Relics

Relics are one of the key development resources in Evony. They provide various artifacts and resources. This includes: general fragments, gold, gems, experience, blood of Ares, materials etc. They are perfect:

Image 1. An opened relic.

  • when you are starting with game and do not have enough troops, and research for gathering: relics provide much more resources per troop on initial cycles of the game play;
  • when you don't have a lot of time to play the game: you can send troops to explore relics once in a day, or two, and send them again the following evening.

  • Relics like RSS spots on the world map can be attacked after opening by other players outside of your alliance.
Multiple alliance members are able to send troops in the same time to the same relic. This would increase speed of resource gathering from that relic while other players are there.

    Relic levels

Relics can be of 6 levels. Level 1 to 5 relics, and mysterious (level 6) relic. Each level is restricted by your keep. Hence to open mysterious relic you need to have 22nd keep level. The lower level of the relic the less predictable it's output expectation is.

Most predictable are mysterious relics in terms of results and fragments.

    Managing own relics

To open relics, please use treasure maps from your items:
Image 2. Treasure maps allow a player to open one relic in the same time.

Image 3. A closed relic. Owner of the relic needs to send some troops, which would stay in the relic 10 seconds. After that alliance can send troops to the same relic.

When you are opening a relic - consider composing lower level maps to highest as this will give you the best value from exploration. This could be done in items as shown on the Image 2.

Relics are opened at random coordinates. It is a good practice to abandon your relic right away if distance from your hive is more than some threshold, e.g. 400 km. A relic could be abandoned only before opening. You can abandon only relics which you have opened. This is shown on Image 4, from Relics section.

Image 4. Newly opened relic. "Abandon" button still active. Images like this can be used as proof of ownership: only person who opened a relic would have abandon button on this dialog.

    Managing alliance relics

There are 5-6 marches you can send to relics. Hence well organized alliances do share currently active relics from time to time to make sure no disputes are created by your players as other alliances will typically defend their relics.
The following message to alliance chat and mail will be very useful:

    RELICS
    123 456 RedPlayer
    56 754 BluePlayer
    123 753 GreenPlayer

When you send a chat message which has X Y NameOfPlayer written and separated by spaces - you can easily click on the coordinates. A convenient way to post a shortcut.
If coordinates sent differently - you always can click on X: xxx Y: yyy panel (bottom center) on the world map and enter desired coordinates manually.
